Free download from House of Heroes

July 9, 2010 | no comments.

Who says that there isn’t such thing as a free lunch?  House of Heroes is giving away a free download of their new song “Independence Day for a Petty Thief.”

Ok, well there is a catch.  In order to download the song, you MUST have a Twitter account that you are willing to allow the band to access.  Once you agree to the terms, the band will instantly send out a Tweet to your network, alerting them of the free offer.

If that doesn’t sound too invasive to you, click here to access the free download.

Listen to “Born Again” from Newsboys before you can buy it!

July 9, 2010 | no comments.

I alway find it risky when artists allow the general public to listen to an entire album before release date.  Some artists like Radiohead would do anything to keep their music from being consumed by the general public until they’re ready.  According to a Time Magazine article, copies of Radiohead’s 2003 album Hail to the Thief were sent to journalists sealed inside individual cd players to ensure that the audio couldn’t be intentionally or even unintentionally distributed to other unauthorized users.

Other artists feel that “leaking” an album can lead to good things.  That must be why you can listen to Born Again, the brand new album from the Newsboys in its entirety online.

To listen in its entirety, click here.

July 8, 2010 | no comments.

The Christian rock band “Ivoryline” is giving you an opportunity to win a Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Telecaster Custom Guitar and a bunch of other Ivoryline goodies.  To win, all you need to do is enter their karaoke contest, which is featured on YouTube.  Watch the video, familiarize yourself with the lyrics, and then record a video of yourself singing karaoke to the song.

(For a second there, I thought that the guy in the bottom right was giving us the middle finger.  Still, I’m not exactly sure what he’s trying to tell us with that fist!)
